Hello,

I'm trying to play some streaming video content using MediaPlayer 10 in
WindowsXP, but when I attempt to play it I get a message stating that a
security upgrade is required. I click Yes to download the upgrade, but
nothing happens. No webpage opens, nothing gets downloaded and I still end
up with the same message from above and can't play this content. I've
downloaded and reinstalled a new copy of MediaPlayer 10, but that hasn't
resolved it either...

Might someone have any clues why this happens and how to fix it?

Thanks,

Jeff

Do you have a firewall running which prevents from accessing the Internet?
In IE go to Internet Options - Advanced : You must both enable: IE
Installation if required, Installation if required other.

Try to set the security settings to medium (or for testing only (!) on low).

Ok, I've done as suggested, disabled my firewall, ZoneAlarm AND XP's built
in firewall (I dont' have SP2 installed), and even set my IE security
settings to low, but STILL the update won't download.

Is there any other way of getting the update? Can it be downloaded from the
MS website? What is it listed under?

Thanks,

Jeff

Have you tried going to tools/windows update in IE Browser? I had to go
there to get the security updates Microsoft sent out last week to install
correctly.
