Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service

When I try to install the automatic update above, I get an error message
(Code 643) and the update fails.

WindowsUpdate_00000643 error.

There doesn't seem to be any help available for this...Any help is
appreciated.

Type the following in Google, to many possible answers to post here.

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Code 643
 
See if this resolves the issue:

When you try to install an update for the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, or
2.0, you may receive Windows Update error code "0x643" or Windows
Installer error code "1603"
