I used to have the perfect custom level for my security in IE. I recently formated my hard drive and have since forgotten what settings to use. I had it so that when I visit an mp3 site those sneeky little downloads don't install itself on my computer. Can someone please help me with this. I was also able to move around freely without having to give any permissions on a site. Thanx in advance.

JM;
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab
Make sure these two are UNCecked.
 Enable Install On Demand (Internet Explorer)
Specifies to automatically download and install Internet Explorer components if a Web page
needs them in order to display the page properly or perform a particular task.
 Enable Install On Demand (Other)

Well that partially worked, but I'm still getting those stupid small programs such as "active alert" and internet optimizer" when I visit certain websites.

JMChavy;
The programs are installing? Or asking to install? I don't think you
can stop them from asking.
