Since I installed the latest XP patches, I no longer see
the CTRL-ALT-DELETE dialogue box prior to logon. XP
immediately displays the logon dialogue box. The
instructions given in the MS article published in their
knowledge base is not correct for XP. Does anyone know
how to fix this issue?

If it's XP Pro you are using, you can do this by going
start > run and typing secpol.msc
when you go through "Local Policies" you should find "Require users to
press ...", set this to enabled, or it may be the other way I really cant
remember - "Do not require users to press CTRL........" in which case set
it to "disabled".

If it's XP home, see:

Good luck

Thanks, Steve. That fixed the problem. Somehow,
neither option was set so the result was "undefined". I
assume the last security patch from MS caused the problem
since it worked until I applied the patch.
