Security and POP3

I work with a company who is VERY security-conscious. They've reluctantly
configured their system to allow me POP3 access to their Exchange email
server, as I am remote and use Outlook with several other email accounts.
What is the highest possible level of security we can use for my POP3 access?
Be very specific, please. I use Outlook 2003. Thanks!

SSL?

Or, they could let you use OWA instead of any of this, and SSL/port 443
access to it only.

They can secure POP3 using SSL.

Another option if they use Exchange 2003 (and have a Windows 2003 Active
Directory domain) and you are running Windows XP (SP2) + Outlook 2003 is to
connect via RPC over HTTPS. (Which is infinitely better than POP3.)
