Hi Folks,

Just found your group , hope you can help me.

I am parent with two kids age 11 and 13. They both use MSN Messenger 6.0.
It seems that someone is coming online using my daughters (and others) ID
and using foul language and making derogatory comment about people in their
group of friends.........all the time posing as some one in the group.

A friend of my daughters called tonight to ask if she was online saying
some one using my daughters ID messaged her saying she was not a friend
anymore and cussing and swearing at her. It was not my daughter as I was on
one computer in the house and my wife was on the other with my daughter
playing a video game with my son in the next room. This has happened
before.......... My daughter says that she has not given her password to
anyone.

Can this be done without her password?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

It should not be possible without her password. I would suggest she change
it ASAP and make sure it is something secure (i.e. 8 charaters/mixed
case/includes some non-alpha numeric). I would point out that someone could
set up a new passport with your daughter's name and pretend to be her but
the e-mail address associated with the account would not match.

Thanks John we will be doing this,
