Security Alerts?

Put new mainboard in box and then ran a Repair Install on XP Home. After
that I installed the current IT Prof. Service Pack downloaded from the MS
site.

The security suite was installed and, after turning off the Firewall and
Auto Updates I now get nuisance bubbles and pester messages about turning
them back on. I used both of these a while back and both caused me problems.
I run a hardware firewall and will only apply patches after I know that
others are no longer buggering up their systems with them.

Am I going to have to just learn to live with these pester messages or will
they give up and go away or do I have a option to make them go away?

If you are talking about the Windows firewall, etc. open the Windows
Security folder in Control Panel, and on the left you'll see 'change the way
Security Center alerts me' You can stop those reminders from there.

Control Panel> Security Center>left side, Change the way Security Center
alerts me> uncheck appropriate boxes.

Thanks

Control Panel>Security Center - look on the left side for the link that
says, "Change how Security Center alerts me" and make desired changes.
