I've been having a few issues with my SATA drive, so I bought another one to
use as a data drive. I have installed it, and it can be seen as working
properly in the device manager. The only message I get is that it's not
initalized.
Q:how do I do this?

<any thanks.

Start, Run (Type) Diskmgmt.Msc [Enter]
Your new drive should appear as the Disk 'Highest Number'.
Normally, the Disk Initialization Wizard starts on it's own. The
drive should be shown as a Basic disk and the structure bar will
show the entire space as Unallocated. You just need to Right
Click on the bar and take Create Partition, supply size & format
once done, the drive letter assignment can be changed (if wanted).
