Second Hard Drive Problems

hi folks, small problem thats frying my head just now. Just added a second
sata hard drive. The drive has been picked up by the computer but is not
listed in my explorer. How do I get it into explorer so I can format it?
 
The drive contains no Partitions, it's just raw, unallocated space.
Click Start, Run (Type) Diskmgmt.Msc [Enter]
Your newest drive will have the highest Drive numbering. It's
space will appear as a Bar marked Unallocated. You simply
right click the Bar and create a single partition or multiple ones
by supplying size, Volume Name and Format type.
 
The drive should have come with a bootable utility CD. You need to format the
drive from the utility CD or it will not be recognized by Windows.

Right click on "My Computer". Go to Manage | Disk Management. Find the drive
create a partition and format the partition. It will then be usable and will
be seen by Windows Explorer.

Partition it first. Then you will see a drive letter. To use the drive
after that, format it.
