Second Hard Drive Problem

I've been runningWIN98 and two hard drives in this computer for years
and all of a sudden my second hard drive can not be found, anywhere.
What can I do to locate it. I've checked all the connections and I even
tried a new cable. I hope someone can help, as I have a lot of
important data on the "LOST" drive.

The hard drive is not seen in the BIOS either?
In another computer?
In an external case (USB/firewire?)
Downloaded the hard disk drive manufacturer's diagnostics (if the drive is
seen in the BIOS) to check the drive?

If not - it could be dead. Just restore from your backups.

It may have died. Good thing you make regular backups of your most
important data so you can get it back if a hard drive fails.
