searchpage as my HOME PAGE

In Internet Explorer the internet site called
SEARCHPAGE.HTML (general web search option with various
sites) has imbedded itself into my HOMEPAGE and refuses
to be replaced by any other option. When I am accessing
internet sites, frequently the SEARCHPAGE comes up on the
explorer screen in place of the site I type in...or the
link I try to access.

How can I get rid of this intruder?
