Searching for non-blank cells

I've been manipulating a fair amount of data. In some instances I have been
cutting some data out of a worksheet and pasting it into another one. Just
when I think I have all the data out of the central worksheet, I find some
more data that is quite a few cell rows down.

Is there a way that I ask excel to search for the next cell with some data
in it - without knowing what that data is?

I have a table of data, with the heading like Author ,Name of Books,
Publisher, Subject. Now I want to search data. Subject wise . Like If I give
History then I want all books under history subject.. & I want to do this
under a drop down box. ???

Maybe you could select your range and apply data|filter|autofilter.

Then you could filter to show a particular subject. Or click on the Custom
option and use a criteria of "contains History".
