searchable textbox?

I wish to make a textbox searchable for strings. Is this possible with a
property of the textbox, or do I have to wright a method.

I mean find and replace type tool (although I'm not too concerned with the
replace).
I appreciate being pointed in the direction of a tutorial or book.
