I've had problems utilizing the search feature. Just to try it out, I
purposely put in a name that I knew was in a file, and it didn't display it.
I use Corel word perfect, and wonder if that has anything to do with it. It
just won't give me any results.

You didn't say which version of Windows you were using. Try placing a
check in the "Advanced Options" checkbox and check off "Include Slow
Files". See if that helps.
