Each time I open removeable astorage device under "my computer" (eg. cd rom)
I get a search screen as if I had asked for a search from the start screen.
How can I enable the system to go straight to the files on the CD withourt
having to right click and point to "explore" on the drop down?

Open a run command and type in:
regsvr32 /i shell32.dll click [OK] and Reboot your machine and try to
open a file or folder.
