Hi,

If I select <Search...> in the context menu of the Explorer the dialog with
the field <Look in> should be filled automatically with the actual active
folder in the Explorer tree. The field <Look In> is always empty on my
system.

Does anybody know a solution for that problem?

Regards,
Günter

Günter ,

I assume you have added "Search Assistant User Interface" and "MSXML 3.1" components?

Hi,

I have 2.6 and 3.1 in my image. I tried to install patches for 3.1
and I update to 4, without result.

Regards,
Günter

Günter,

Sorry, I can't help you more here.
I haven't seen the bug as I mostly worked with the standard XP Pro (2000) search that is behind the Search Assistant UI introduced
in XP Pro.
You may have the standard search if you remove Search Assistant from your image. Or at run time set "Use Search Asst" string
registry value of [HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState] key to "no" (and the same value under
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]).

But if you really need the Search Assistant to work properly, someone who's seen the issue and fixed it or found a workaround may
jump in here and help you.
Or you can report the bug to MS.
