I have a problem...whenever i try to search for a file on
my computer and hit f3 or search from start menu it says
that a component is missing and search companion cannot
start and that i should reinstall. But when i connect to
the internet it works...i don`t understand where could be
the problem. Can anyone help me ?Thx

Exactly! Reason being:

Search Assistant will try to connect to http://sa.windows.com This is done
to check for updates to its features, tips, wording and etc. Not allowing
access can cause its own set of problems, usually a "A file that is
required........." error message.

You can stop the internet access by changing the search behavior to Classic
Search.

Disable Search Assistant (Line 15)

Old Style Search Engine On/Off (Line 49)

Or...

Use TweakUI, Explorer Section to set Classic Search:

Search Companion files may be damaged if you have Search Companion open when
you connect to certain Internet Service Providers.
