Hi;

About two weeks ago, I found that the Search function under Start does
not work. I can click on it and nothing happens. Any suggestions
would be most appreciated. I have constantly added and removed
software so is there any special class of software which could cause
problems?

My computer is a 6 months old Dell Dimension 3.2 MHz XPS with two
mirrored 250 Gb Serial ATA drives.

TIA

Hi again;

I forgot to mention that I am using XP Pro without SP2 (which I feel
might cause a lot of incompatibility.

Hi;

I realize that this is a belated follow-up. I went to the website
linked below.

I found both BAR.XSL and BALLOON.XSL just where you said they would
be. Both are 34 kb files and were dated the same as the rest of the
installed files.

In addition, "srchasst.inf" was also in the Windows/inf subdirectory.

When I tried to re-install srchasst.inf, I was unable to find it on
the Win XP Pro CD-ROM as supplied by Dell. The Dell XP Pro was in
Dell colors and stated "Operating System Already Installed on your
computer". It then called the CD-ROM a "Re-installation CD"
containing Microsoft Windows XP Professional including Service Pack
1a.

I do not know whether Dell version of XP Pro makes it more difficult
to use but I was unable to find the srchasst.inf or the two .XSL
files.

I would appreciate any suggestion on how to do this as I assume they
need to be extracted from the CD-ROM.

Thanks in advance.
