Search function slow - only for network

I have several machines that have an issue using the search function on
network drives or network paths. When you click search nothing happens for 10
seconds and then it will search the network drive. This is not the case for
all machines.

I have cleared IE history, cookies, temp files, made sure there were no
broken network connections, and re-installed the srchasst.inf file from the
cd.

There is no delay when searching the hard drive.

These are all XP sp2 machines with the latest updates and identical software
installs.

Look at "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from
each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
