Search for .doc files that contain macros

My IT department deleated my normal.dot in a misguided attempt to solve an
unrelated issue. Now my macros are gone. I had no backup. Is there a way
to search other files that might contain the macros I'm looking for?

If they were saved in Normal.dot and you have no backup, they're gone. Your
only hope is that you had "Always create backup copy" enabled (Tools |
Options | Save), in which case you should look for "Backup of Normal.wbk" in
the same folder with Normal.dot.

And tell your IT department that it is *never* acceptable to delete
Normal.dot; renaming it will accomplish the same thing and is reversible.
