Search for a word in main doc and all docs hyperlinked to it?

I've created a series of help pages in different word docs all linked from a
main ('index') page, ie, like a website made up of word docs. I want a user
to be able to do a simple one off word search for a topic across all the
linked docs. Can this be done, and if so how?

Try asking this in one of the word.vba newsgroups (.beginners, if you've never
done anything with macros before). You should be able to do it using the
FileSearch object, if you have a relatively new version of Word/Office (not
Word 97).
