I dislike xp's search for file and folder in windows explorer and some years
back I found a utility which changes just this program back to an earlier
version which I am pleased with.

I can't find the program anymore.

Does anyone know what I am referring too.

I won't use windows desktop manager because of its terrible search program

No, I don't know the program to which you are referring but the free
Agent Ransack is an excellent search program. I install it on all my XP
machines.

TweakUI--under the Explorer section, and put a checkmark next to "Use
Classic Search in Explorer"

Is this what you were thinking of?

There's no way I can know what you are referring to, but many of us
here like the free Agent Ransack.

Eh? Seems like I did. I knew exactly what he was talking about when I read
"earlier version".

An alternative would've been saying "putting that dog to sleep". :-)
