Hi I can't access any search engine seem to be block is
there a virus or web page virus going around?

Hello,

If you can access other websites just fine, something
might have altered your HOSTS file. Do a serach for HOSTS
(without extenison) on your machine open the file in
Notepad and delete the lines containing

127.0.0.1 <searchengine>.com

Save the file and restart.

Can you search now?

Kind regards

Hans

I am having the same problem too! I cannot use any search
engine from IE. I keep getting a "Not Found
The requested URL /response.asp was not found on this
server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while
trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request"

If anyone can help, please do so as this is very
annoying! Thanks!

Hi there, just realized that you posted a reply to
previous person's question about search engine difficulty.
Hope you don't mind my jumping in. I did a search as you
recommended, however my hosts file
contained "127.127.127.127 elite" as the only line
starting with a 127. Should I delete that line? Any
thoughts would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I have a question as well. I have done a search for
HOSTS files and found several. Is this a .dat file or
what location should the file be in?
