I cannot use any search engine. I did a virus scan, used
Spybot and still I can conduct searches. I also cannot
get on www.google.com for some reason. No search engines
work. I can get on MSN & Yahoo, but cant use there
searches. "Page cannot be displayed" error message comes
out every time. I can log onto websites as long as I know
the address, but I need help in the search dept. Please
help.

You got the QHost Trojan. Read a number of threads about solving it earlier.

Mark,
Trojan Qhosts hijacks the HOSTS file, however unlike normal redirectors,
this one hides the HOSTS file in the "Windows\Help" folder. It then
creates entries that redirects *all* major search engines to a website.
Note: this website has now been removed, thus the DNS errors.

Microsoft has released a cumulative patch for this vulnerability:
Simply go to Windows Update [hotfix 828750]

Note: not all machines are affected by the same Registry changes
but the user needs to verify in any case.

You can detect "Qhosts" via a new beta version of HijackThis
