Hello,

For some mysterious reason, I cannot access the search
engines the most popular, such as Google, MSN, Yahoo,
Hotbot...

I get connected on the search groups Your.com.

How can I solve this problem.

I have IE6.0 SP2 and run on Windows XP home edition

Thanks

Jeff

It is the QHosts trojan.

I downloaded Netscape 7.01. I can access the sites but not use the
search engines. I also cannot get a cursor to work from an email in my
inbox ---I use outlook---this all just started happening this weekend.

Maureen,
Trojan Qhosts hijacks the HOSTS file, however unlike normal redirectors,
this one hides the HOSTS file in the "Windows\Help" folder. It then
creates entries that redirects *all* major search engines to a website.
Note: this website has now been removed, thus the DNS errors.

Microsoft has released a cumulative patch for this vulnerability:
Simply go to Windows Update [hotfix 828750]
