Search doesn't allow me to limit search to a specific folder

Hi,

I've just moved from 2000 to XP. In 2000, the Search dialog allows me to
browse and select any folder on my system to limit the search to. In XP, I
apparently can only limit the search to My Documents, My Pictures, My Music,
Desktop, or My Computer. Am I missing something? If I find I can't control
what gets searched, I will not be happy.

Hi,

If you go down to the bottom of that list there should be a browse option,
or you can just type the path you want to search straight in the box.

Hope this helps

Hi Barbara,
When you first open the Search window, if you have a choice Change
Preferences click on it, then on Change files and folders search behavior,
and click on Advanced...
Then you should get a box Look in, which at the bottom of this list is
Browse...

Otherwise you, in Windows Explorer, can right-click on a folder and click on
Search.

First be in Explorer or My Computer at the folder you want. Then start
the search
