Hi, I hAve win xp and my search comes up with the
message "Service unavailable, DNS failure. When I log
onto my husbands account, his search works, but mine
doesn't, and I can't figure out what is wrong with the
settings. Anybody have a solution? Would be much

Are you having trouble with pop-ads or unexpected toolbars on your browser?

In your subject line you say search doesn't work on Internet Explorer. By
that I presume you are referring to a web site like Google or Yahoo. DNS
(Domain Name Service) is what translates the name of a web site
(http://www.google.com for example) to its numeric address on the Internet.
Your ISP needs to access a server that provides DNS in order for you to go
anywhere on the Internet - unless, of course, you already know the web
site's numeric address. If the DNS servers your ISP is using are unavailable
for some reason, you will see a message to the effect that DNS has failed.

Your first step is to make sure that your networking setup is correct. Your
ISP's techinical support area can walk you through the steps needed to check
that. If your networking configuration is correct, then the problem lies
with your ISP's DNS servers and there's nothing you can do except wait until
those servers are fixed.
