search companion error

I sent a previous question about this but didn't leave my
email and i have no idea how to see any responses unless
emailed tome. this news group set up is very confusing for
me at least.
i get a search companion error stating the file needed to
find search companion could not be found. nothing i have
tried has fixed it and i have tried every thing. Every
rememdy that miscroft offers either doesn't install or has
vague and incomplete instructions. thx

I am responding to mysef just to try and figure out how

this system of seeing any responses works. anything on
microsofts web site is sorely lacking common sense
instructions .
