SEARCH can't find WordPerfect text?

I'm using a WinXP-pro PC. A long time ago, I used WordPerfect and have
thousands of files. But WinXP's SEARCH doesn't seem to "see" text in these
documents. It outright misses them, comes up dry even though the document
exists with the term(s) I'm entering...

Example. If I right click My Documents > Search > wordorphrase: register a
corporation > Search... it simply can't find the document
(corporaterules.wpd) that contains this phrase. I already checked simple
things like case sensitive is off, indexing is off, etc.

Is there something else I might have missed or could try. Is there
something about WordPerfect files that block/confuse the search? Sure there
are other search engines, but I'd prefer to keep using this one and just get
it to work.

Thanks,
George

Try this:

Open Folder Options in your Control Panel.
Click on the View tab, scroll down to
"Hide extensions for known file types",
remove the check mark and click Apply.

Thanks, I did try that, it's already set to:
[ ] Hide extensions for known file types (unchecked)
[o] Show hidden files and folder (checked)

Hi George,

Go to http://www.petri.co.il/windows_xp_search_bug.htm. If you use method 2,
your wp files can be searched. That's the good news. The bad news is that the
search will search only one word. If you use more than one word, it skips the
wp files.

I like you have many wordperfect files that I need to search and I have yet
to overcome the one-word problem.
