Search Assistant Character Gone

I deleted the WINDOWS\msagent folder, and now the animated screen characters
will not appear. I also noticed the .ac* no longer have their icons. Can
someone help me gain the characters back?
 
I restored the msagent folder, but the characters are still not appearing,
meaning the dialog box moves all the way to the bottom, and the .acs file
still don't have their file extensions registered normally, meaning the .acs
is not hidden and the icon is nothing, so any help?
