I have a second PC where someone inadvertently uninstalled SeaMonkey
via "add or remove programs." Restoring to a *previous date* returns the
message the 'No changes have occured" and therefore I cannot get back
to a previous configuration that restores SeaMonkey.

Is there another method to get the previous configuration back without
having to download the program SeaMonkey and start from ground zero?

Thank you for information leading to a solution to this problem!

System Restore would not have worked anyway. It is exactly as it says;
"SYSTEM" Restore meaning operating system componants. It will not restore
applications that have been removed. Reinstall the application.

I would redownload it, unless you are not able to - wouldn't take long. You
may also find that your previous Seamonkey settings are kept intact, despite
the previous uninstallation, when you reinstall.

That would depend on whether the uninstaller cleaned up the app data and
registry information. Some do, some don't.

Hi,

That's not what System Restore is for, you need to reinstall the software
from the original installation media or download.

Yes, seem to recall Firefox leaving its extension settings intact, in

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\

or thereabouts, so might be the case with SeaMonkey too.

I want to thank everyone for your contribution! Finally settled for
downloading
(to disk) and reinstalling SeaMonkey.without a problem. Folks at SeaMonkey
did a tremendous job, because everything went back to where it was before in
practically no time at all, and most of all, flawlessly.

My experience with restoring on previous occasion had brought back always
any program as well as configurations from programs that were deleted in
between restore point days. However, I don't remember on which PC I had
done this, since one PC runs on XP home edition, the other XP professional.
I had assumed that the OS where similar with respect to restoring?!

Since everything is back to normal and works to my satisfaction let us bring
this to a close. Computers and their OS is beyond my ken to figure out. ;-)
Thanks again for your support. It's good to know that someone still cares!
