Seagate 300 gig

When I boot up the large Windows XP opens and procee3ds to the next
"small" logo and stops. I have mouse movement and Widow opening WAV
file and that is all. I have ran chkdsk /r from the repair console and
that did not help.

What does this have to do with Seagate 300 gig? You really haven't
provided enough information. Have you tried booting into safe mode and
trying last known good configuration or the other options. There is
also a repair install: http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

It is highly unlikely that the drive is at fault. It sounds like you have
an issue with your installation of windows.
