SDRAM Memory with EPROM? Ever heard of this?

I have an old Quantex TS30H laptop that boots intermittently, that I
blame on the memory. Sometimes it'll past the memory test, other times
not, and yet other times it'll power up but won't post (the fan runs
constantly and nothing else happens). The memory is a 16mb SDRAM with
EPROM. I've never heard of this, and trying to find information about
this type of memory is impossible. What is the EPROM for? Is it a
specific type of memory for this laptop? Am I SOL with regards to
replacing this memory? I've tried a couple of pc66 64mb sdrams but the
laptop won't post at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I left out any info needed,
please let me know.

Thanks- Brian

Disregard this message. It turns out that the CPU card popped loose on
the motherboard *snicker*. Now it boots just fine.

According to a friend of mine, the "w/EPROM" on the memory module is
probably just some marketing gimmick. Dunno...
