Scrolling problem

My screen is now scrolling in a "jerky" manner versus the
smooth "next screen". It started two weeks ago. Also,
when I place the cursor on the main title bar to move it,
it moves in "waves" instead of smoothly. Is this a virus
problem? I have updated Norton Anti-Virus. Thanks
