I cannot seem to figure out how to adjust the vertical
scroll bar so that fewer cells scroll by as I move the
scroll bar. Right now I have two types of worksheets:
one, where if I move the scroll bar a quarter of an inch,
600 cells will scroll by, and the other type where I can
move the scroll bar 6 inches for 60 cells. Where does
one adjust this? I have looked in HELP, and it talks
about activex controls or forms controls, and I am
immediately lost.

Please advise.

Peter

This happens when you copy a large range from one sheet
into another, for example if someone copied an entire
sheet over. The way to fix it is to select the rows below
your data and delete them. Do the same with the columns.
Then save and close the workbook. When you reopen the
file, the scrollbars selectors will be larger and
therefore less 'jerky'.

Good luck

The height of the "elevator" on the vertical scrollbar is small when excel
thinks there are lots of rows. It's large when excel thinks that there are few
rows.

If excel thinks there are more rows than you think there are (hit ctrl-end to go
to where excel thinks is the end), you can use some of the techniques at Debra
Dalgleish's site to reset the last used cell.
