scroll bars and buttons dissapearing

Some of my apps are loosing buttons and scroll bars and need restarting somtimes more than once. Also i seem to have quite a few error messages from certain apps when starting but then re starting is fine.
Im using WinXPpro.
Any ideas?

Maybe your video driver? Are you using the latest version?
