Hi all.
In a computer there are screws that look a bit like the motherboard
standoff screws to hold the serial port to the steel of the slot cover.
They have a male thread and the a hex head with a female thread in it.
Any ideas what these are called. I did a google and thought they were
called cable end studs but a search on farnellinon and RS components
websites fbring up nothing.

Any help is appreciated

Cheers

don't know what they are called but if you need some go to a flee market
or a computer show and buy some old cards for a few bucks to get them.

John,

They are called jack screws, Keystone Electronics (www.keyelco.com)
makes them and Digikey (www.digikey.com) sells them. There are several
lengths so be sure to get the one you need.
