I'm sorry, but since you didn't provide any details about your "great
new system", you can't get focused troubleshooting answers. Go here to
see the kind of information you should include in your next post:

http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm

In the meantime, check your power management settings. Also, if you have
wireless devices like keyboard and/or mouse, they will often prevent a
screensaver from starting since they regularly poll the system.

Hello. If you are using a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard/Mouse, do the following:

1. Hit START, RUN, Msconfig and press ENTER.
2. When the System Configuration Utility is displayed, click on the STARTUP
tab.
3. Uncheck the entry next to "EHTRAY.EXE.
4. Apply the change.
5. Restart you Computer.
6. Your Screensaver wll now work.]
7. EHTRAY is an optimizer program for Media Center that is not required.
You won't notice any change in performance.

Steve,

With the amount of people that have a wireless keyboard/mouse and the number
of times it has been reported, dont you think it is about time microsoft
sorted this problem out

Yes but, they are still trying to fix Windows, and Office and probably
all their other products. It seems to me that they should acknowledge
the problem with their Wireless/Optical mice on the box so that the
consumer could them make an intelligent choice.
