My screensaver in Vista will not turn on UNLESS I go into the screensaver
settings after I turn my computer on and change how many minutes until it
goes on. I just need to change it one minute in either direction. Then it
works all day until I shut the computer down. And then I do it all over the
next day. I do not have a wireless keyboard or mouse. All my drivers are up
to date. My computer is only two months old. I have disabled ehtray. I
disabled the HID. I have tried everything that I have read. NOTHING. And, no
one else has this problem. Anyone over there at Microsoft have a clue?
Literally and figuratively.

Make sure that you press the APPLY button before you press OK. I have found
that in most of Vista's dialogs, if you don't press APPLY after each and every
change the settings will not be remembered.

Can you provide examples of such dialogs, please?

My experience is that Vista works the same as XP in this regard. The
difference is that pressing Apply applies the change and leaves the
dialog box open, and pressing OK applies the change and closes the
dialog box.

My screensaver does not start. Windows Vista Ultimate, No Wireless Mouse, All
Updates Applied, running on a ThinkPad T60p. Changed screensavers, previews
OK, etc. All suggestions welcome.

Mine wasn't working at all. It never came on. I changed the following
registry key and now it works, but it's intermittent:
HKCU\software\Microsoft\Plus\Themes\Apply\Screensaver.....I changed it from
0 to 1.
