screen sideways

Running Windows XP. Somehow, the desktop screen turned
sideways. Toolbar is on the right side. Icons are
sideways. Programs open sideways. Tried a recover to a
past time but did not work. Is there a button to push to
change it back to normal? Thanks for any help. It's hard
to work sideways! Amy
 
It is likely that someone modified the screen orientation in your display
settings.

right click your desktop and goto properties, then goto the display tab and
goto advanced.
One of the options in there should fix your screen orientation.

control panel \ display \ settings \ advanced
under the graphics settings, look for an area dealing with rotation

or if there is a graphics area in the control panel, use that instead.
