I am using XP Pro and would like to create a screen shot of my complete
desktop. (Icons, taskbar, etc.)

How do I go about doing that?

Pressing the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard will copy the complete
Desktop to the clipboard. From there open an imaging program and paste the
image. (Windows naive Paint program will do in a pinch)

Not Paint but Imaging instead. It is available within the accessories section. If you have Word it should also allow you to past in the desktop shot image...

Works fine with Paint. Always has.
