I've searched all over the Internet looking for the ability to create a
shortcut to my current active screen saver that will also allow the password
prompt to work (if enabled) upon coming back from the screen saver (similar
to the ability that was provided by the screen saver shortcut on the Office
XP Shortcut Bar). I am currently running Windows XP Professional. Does
anyone have any suggestions?

(and no, creating just a plain shortcut to a .scr file doesn't work since it
doesn't prompt for password if that feature is enabled and it requires you
to choose the specific screen saver rather than just using the current
active one)

Thanks!

if you have a password associated with your windows account then pressing
the windows key and L
will send you to the welcome screen. You will have to enter the passwoed in
order to get back in.

Perhaps this is of some help, let me know.

Hi,

Have you tried enabling the line in the control panel/power options/advanced
to prompt for password on resume from standby?

I have found the solution to my problem.

Create a shortcut to the following file: C:\program files\microsoft
office\office11\osa.exe and then use the following switches:

a.. -f
This switch opens the Open Office Document dialog box at startup.
a.. -n
This switch opens the New Office Document dialog box at startup.
a.. -s
This switch starts the specified screen saver at startup. Note that if there
is no screen saver selected under Display in Control Panel, you receive a
message stating this.
