Screen Saver Deactivating On Is Own

My screen saver never stays on for more than a minute or two. It seems like
there is something happening in the background that pops up on my toolbar,
but it never last more than a moment, so I can't figure out what it is. But,
I think that is the cause. Just a guess though.

Any help is appreciated.

One option is to do some clean boot troubleshooting to see what is
running. Use the principle of halves, turning off half at a time -
should get it narrowed down pretty quick.
