Screen Saver Being Grayed Out

I'm using Windows XP with an extended desktop. I have my primary device as
my monitor and my secondary device as my notebook. I set the screen saver,
say OK and when I come back in and look at the settings for the screen
saver, it says no screen saver is set. However, it seems the screen saver
still works. I went through and unchecked / rechecked all my display
settings within the screen saver.

Any ideas.

Hi Srm,

Thank you for posting!

I recommend you check the following registry key for the screen saver
options.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

The SCRNSAVE.EXE value, the ScreenSaveActive value etc are the values about
the screen saver. You can check these values to see what settings they are.
I suspect there were registry permission issues and this could be the
reason why the settings are not saved.

Thank you!
