The Old Timer

I increased the screen resolution on my PC & now find that all of the text
is elongated. I thought that this change would have resulted in everything
being smaller but in proportion. Did I do something wrong?

You might have selected a screen size that is meant for a wide monitor. In
Display Properties/Settings, as you drage the slider for screen size, you
can see various proportions. Not all settings are appropriate for your
display.

Standard CRT/LCD setting should be height 80% of width.

I think you mean 75%. 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768... all 75% of width
to get the height.
