screen resolution won't change

I can't change the screen resolution from 640 by 480 because the little pixel won't move to the right, even though it is all the way to the left. How can I fix this so I can increase the resolution?
 
Reinstall the latest drivers for your monitor and video card.

This is because there are no drivers to enhance the display on the screen.
You will have to install the drivers that was provided with ur motherboard or with the AGP card that you installed. or if you had installed the video card then you need to install the drivers for that video card. the drivers are provided on the CD that accompanies the video card or AGP card.
 
i kind of have the same problem but maybe a bit different. Not only th
screen resolution won't change, i can't see my cursor too. But when
open my PC in safe mode, the cursor is there! i don't know what i
wrong with my pc. It was okay the day before

Control panel / Mouse and choose a different cursor

or you are using the Same color Background as your Mouse is using
