Hi

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but, I have just bought a
new PC and am now running XP after years of '98. My problem is this, I
cannot get Display Properties to raise the screen resolution higher than
1024 x 768, and I am used to using 1200 or something like that, can anyone
help please?

Thanks

John

It would appear that your new computer's video card or your monitor cannot
handle a resolution higher than 1024 X 768. Most likely it is the video card
that is doing the restriction. Higher resolutions cost more, and many newer,
less expensive or out dated computers do not support higher resolutions.

About all you can do is buy a new graphics video card and hope it works in
your new computer. This problem is NOT because of the operating system, but
the computer itself.

When I bought my new computer with win xp on it I couldn't go to 1024x768
either. My monitor would only go to 800x600. So after about a year of
dealing with it (and getting the money up) I bought a new monitor.

Thanks
