Screen movement/Erratic Scrolling/Jittery Dragging

Recently when I drag a window it drags erratically leaving images of itself
for a second or two. Also, when I scroll with the wheel mouse in some
programs the screen scrolls very very slowly. What happened and how do I fix
it?

Try what Yves said first. If that doesn't do it then it's possible your
video adapter is giving out on you. Hopefully it's a card and not on board.
If it's on board you can still install a card and disable the on board
adapter.
