screen freezes every couple os seconds

Hey, i am having problems with my screen that keeps on
freezing for second every coulpe of seconds or so. i find
this very annoying especially when i am trying to view a
video file. has anyone got any suggestions?

Check to see if there is a process running amok. If you have a
program that is hogging the CPU, you can get the effect that you have
described.
