Jim

Does anyone know how to you capture a screen and print it
to a file. I have MS Office 2000, Windows XP Home
addition
Thanks Jim

Tech support wanted me to send them a screen shot. I
cant find out how to do it.

When you have the screen up that you need to take a screen shot of, just hit
the print screen key. Then open any program that accepts graphics (like
word) and choose, edit, paste. The screen shot will now show up in word and
can be saved and emailed.
Or, hit: alt-print screen keys to capture just the active window.

Hi Jim,
An easy way to do it is to hit Ctrl-Print Screen and then
paste it into either the email you want to send or into a
word document, then attach that document and send it.

Hit your print screen button, this stores the 'shot' on the clipboard. Go
to the program 'paint' and paste it there, choose the file type you want to
save it as, usually a jpg and pick a destination folder.

Actually, if you hold down Alt+Print Screen you get only the top window
that is selected. Much cleaner and not so big memorywise.

Greetings --

That's a pretty lousy tech support service if they couldn't be
bothered to explain how to do what _they_ wanted you to do.

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard. To view the screen capture, open a graphics program,
such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will paste the contents of
the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open file, and allow you to
view it or save it as a file for later use.
